The loss of a loved one can be a difficult and emotional time. You may feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. I can help guide you through this challenging time and enable you to create the perfect funeral service for your loved one.
Your loved one may have left specific wishes, or you may already have a clear idea of what ceremony you would like, in which case I can help implement that for you.
Alternatively, this may be the first time you have been involved in planning a funeral, in which case I will, support and guide you though the decisions you will need to make, to ensure your loved one gets the beautiful and fitting ceremony they deserve and that best reflects them and the life they lived.
Every ceremony I conduct is unique and personal. I will write and deliver a service that is a true reflection of your loved one and that incorporates your memories and stories together with any music, poems or readings that I can help you choose.
Together we will give your loved one their perfect send-off.
My fee and what’s included - from £240
If I have been recommended to you by your funeral director, then I will contact you within 24 hours of receiving the referral to arrange a meeting so we can go through your wishes in detail.
If I have been recommended to you through word-of-mouth or via the website, then please call me! I can answer any queries you have then before we arrange a meeting to discuss your loved one’s funeral in depth.
Our meeting can take place in your home, over the telephone or via video-link, whichever you are most comfortable with, and at time that is convenient to you. You also decide who you would like to invite to our meeting.
This meeting inevitably stirs up many emotions and memories and I often find that tears of laughter as well as tears of sadness are shed. It is the sharing of those precious memories that will enable me to get to know your loved one and to write a service that is really personal to them. I will be able to suggest appropriate poems, readings and music and any other personal touches based upon our discussions.
By the end of our meeting we will have decided on the the most fitting send-off for your loved one and we will have produced a draft order of service. We will have discussed the different elements of the funeral and I will have helped you to personalise the service so it is a true reflection of your loved one’s personality.
Once I have written the tribute, I will send it to you for your approval. I want to ensure that the tribute is exactly what you expect and that all the details are correct. If anything needs amending then we will continue to make amendments until it is perfect.
On the day of the funeral, I am there early to ensure that everything is in order. I will greet the hearse as it arrives and it will be my honour then to deliver the service on your behalf.
Following on from the service I hand you a full commemorative copy of the service for you to keep.
