About Kate

I’ve spent my entire career working with families and children. In the early days as a family law solicitor, then as a foster carer for 12 years and more recently as a Celebrant. I have a caring and thoughtful nature and I find I can quickly put people at ease.

I live in a village near Ampthill with my husband, three teenagers and over-sized cat! We’ve taken the house from an uninhabitable wreck to a comfortable home over the past 18 years and it’s amazing the skills I’ve learned!

I love to travel and explore new places. I’ve caravanned all my life and enjoy the great outdoors but with all the creature comforts of home. Whilst I love taking the caravan abroad, we often caravan locally as it’s still a change of kitchen sink! 

I love meeting new people and am always the first to strike up a conversation. I even managed to impress my kids when I started chatting in German to someone on the local bus when we were on holiday there!

I’m a keen dancer and usually dance a couple of evenings a week. An evening of Lindy-hop, Charleston and Balboa certainly helps keep you fit and I enjoy performing with a little troop at community events. I also love hiking and trying to tame my garden.
