Congratulations on your new arrival… it’s time to celebrate!
If you want your extended family and friends to get together to formally welcome your new arrival, but you don’t feel a traditional Christening is for you, then a Celebrant-led Naming Day is just the thing!
A Naming Day celebration is a great alternative to a Christening, but it can also be used to celebrate an adoption, the blending of two families, transgender renaming and much more! You can shape it however you want as there is no prescribed format nor content that has to be followed. You can have as much or as little religious content as you want, so a Naming Day is also an excellent way of bringing different faiths together.
Your ceremony can involve family and friends and can take place wherever you want. You can include a mini-ceremony or two to really personalise your day such as candle lighting, tree planting or sand blending. Check out my blog on this website for more mini-ceremony ideas.
You can appoint Guardians or Guideparents and together with them, you can make promises and commitments to your little one, to show your love and support for their future. You can also include readings, poems and music… whatever you feel is right!
We will work together to create the perfect ceremony for your family, that celebrates your new arrival in the way that you feel is most fitting. I will spend time getting to know you and your family, so that the ceremony I write is personal and meaningful.
You could host your own naming ceremony, but with me as your Celebrant, you’ll be working with someone with skills and experience in creating family-friendly and inclusive ceremonies. It also means that you get to sit back, relax and enjoy the day with your guests!
I love working with babies and children… you never know what to expect! I’ve had lots of experience looking after them as a foster carer for 12 years and after having had 10 babies, I don’t think there’s much that can surprise me now!

There are two packages available…
“Simply Perfect”
Available Mon-Thurs & Sunday – £450
Included in this package:
- Your free telephone consultation;
- An initial face-to-face meeting;
- Research and preparation of your personalised ceremonial script;
- Unlimited amendments to your script so that it’s perfect;
- Communication throughout by phone and email;
- My professional advice and co-ordination of the ceremony;
- Up to 1 hour of travel on the day*;
- Attendance 1 hour before the ceremony to liaise;
- Delivery of your ceremony on the day;
- Presentation copy of your ceremonial script as a keepsake;
- Commemorative Naming Certificate; and
- Commemorative Guardians’ certificate(s)
*Any travel over an hour on the day is charged at £25 per half an hour. Any flights or overnight stays will be agreed in writing prior to booking them.
“Truly Refined”
Available Mon-Thurs & Sunday – £550
Includes everything in the “Simply Perfect” package with the addition of up to two mini-ceremonies of your choice*.
Mini-ceremonies can include, but are not limited to:
- Creating a time capsule or memory box:
- Sand ceremony;
- Lighting candles;
- Tree planting;
- Wish tree;
- Planting seeds and bulbs;
- Photographic guest book;
- Video guest book;
- Bubbles;
- Dove release;
- Hand-fasting;
- Commission a poem;
- Hand print on Naming Certificate.

Your ceremony date can be secured with a 50% booking fee. Final payment is due 4 weeks before the Naming Day.
